The I.R.I.S. program is running on a 5V/2.5 amp DC powered single-board computer. The PCB measures just 3.35 x 2.2 x 0.67 inches. The Pi 3 B has a quad-core Broadcom BCM2837B0 and a Cortex-A53 processor clocked at 1.4 GHz. Memory of 1GB LPDDR2 SDRAM and a microSD card slot that is used for storage and the I.R.I.S. configuration files. Two full-size USB 2.0 ports, a Gigabit Ethernet jack, wireless 802.11ac for Wi-Fi.
Because the whole thing runs off a micro USB connection, only 5 volts of power. A charged battery bank of only 10000mAh/37Wh, can power the device for more than 9 hours of continuous duty. The terminal block, broken into four separate zones offers a total of sixteen monitored inputs. A ground rail along the backside offers 8 connection points that can hold up to 3 wires each.
To begin, wire your relay or switch inputs to the corresponding connection points (1-16). Then power up to automatically start the I.R.I.S. via a WPA2 secure, wireless server connection.
